Every year it is my extreme pleasure to make the birthday cakes for my nieces and nephew. The kids always come up with great requests and I find I do some of my best work for them - I still get compliments on the hot tub cake! This year my niece turned 9 and she wanted to have a sleep over party, complete with nail polish, pop and pizza. I was very much looking over to sleeping over and enjoying the party, but since I wasn't feeling 100%, I stayed for the pizza and glow in the dark nail polish only. Imagine my disappointment that I couldn't stay after hearing how amazing six nine-year-old girls screaming sounds... The girls had a great time and of course, they loved the cake. My nephew (who will hence forth be known as Jube-Jube - thank you girls!) turned 7 this year and opted for a pool party with his friends. Unfortunately, I didn't get invited to this party - because I'm a girl, and since Jube-Jube was smart enough to high-tail it out of dodge for the girl's party, I didn't get to see his reaction to the cake. But, knowing him, he probably loved it. Personally I'm pretty happy with how it turned out. I really LOVE my new brick tool! It was super easy to do too.
