Another excitingly busy week, with a couple last minute projects. The first was Olga's birthday. I didn't realize until two nights before, so the cake wasn't as grand as I would have wanted it to be. Next year I'll be able to plan better. Next was a birthday cake that started small, but kept growing and evolving. Again, Olga was being a kindhearted, generous person and wanted to order a second tier as a surprise for her friend who had placed the order. Another surprise order this week was the figure skate cake. Agnes decided to get something special and unique to celebrate her daughter's first figure skating performance. Inside the fondant cover, vanilla cake is layered with real whipped cream and fresh strawberries. Yum! I apologize for this next picture because the quality doesn't do the cake justice. I'm not sure if it was my poor picture taking abilities, or the stranger lighting from the storm that day, or if my camera just choked on the colours... This was a beautiful cake for Valerie's first communion. I hope they enjoyed it as much as I did making it! My little cousin is getting married this summer and my Mom/Aunts threw her a White Hat shower this weekend. It was a lot of fun, and I was asked to make some deserts! In addition to some yummy buttercream cupcakes, I also made some fancy white hat cookies. The awesome idea came from here (she's amazing!) but I used a mix between fondant and royal icing. Thanks to Mom for the use of the *beautiful* silver stand! I'm not the only talented person in the family either. Far from it. My Aunt hand made all of the invitations and my Mother hand made all of the fancy white hat white chocolate favours (amoung other things)! Fantastic party.

AuthorI baked my first cookie at the age of 5, and have been in love ever since. The smiles on people's faces when they taste my creations is what keeps my passion alive! Categories
