This weekend I made my first 'tummy cake' for baby shower for one of my favourite groups of clients (they've asked for the Labatt's bottle, the Palm Bay cans and the Dora cake, to name a few). Tummy Cakes bit of a fad right now, and to be honest, I'm not too fond of them personally. Don't get me wrong, this cake was *a lot* of fun to make, and I got a lot of compliments on it as I walked to my car (It was too big to put a lid on). But personally, the thought of slicing into a pregnant woman's stomach and then eating the insides just never appealed to me. Inside the fondant layer (to make my mental image of slicing the cake even worse) are layers of white cake, organic strawberries and whipped sweet cream. I'm sure it tasted amazing - but I'm glad I wasn't around for that cutting!

AuthorI baked my first cookie at the age of 5, and have been in love ever since. The smiles on people's faces when they taste my creations is what keeps my passion alive! Categories
